Test your testosterone

Have you been feeling more fatigued lately? Are you performing as usual at work, in school, with intimacy, etc? Not to sound like a Viagra (NYSE: PFE) infomercial, but the truth is that male testosterone levels can have a major impact on their ability to execute in various areas of their lives. According to an article published by Harvard Health Publishing too little testosterone in men can result in things like “reduced body and facial hair, loss of muscle mass, brittle bones and increased risk of fracture, poor concentration, depression and reduced sperm count and infertility.”

There are many tests one can do to get a better gauge on whether your testosterone levels are at par with the average males for your age group. The best way to find out is to simply consult a doctor for a blood test, but you can also get a sense of how low or high your testosterone is by paying more attention to your body and patterns, which is described in more detail in the following Anabolic Bodies article.

A 35-year-old self-described fitness fanatic named Saad Alam was told he had the testosterone levels of an 80-year-old man, demonstrating that being a “healthy” fitness guy doesn’t necessarily translate to higher testosterone levels. Regular exercise can indeed boost your testosterone levels, but it is clear that this is not the only thing that counts in this equation.

Beyond things like feeling low, having poor concentration and/or weak bones, one of the main things on people’s minds is the potential inability to have children due to lower sperm count and infertility. Due to this, a major trend has emerged where men are looking for ways of conserving and/or storing their sperm to protect themselves from these risks. For example, there are companies that offer at-home sperm sample testing kits and/or collection kits where people can send back their samples via mail for analysis and/or cryogenic storage.

All in all, taking care of your body on all levels is clearly worth one’s time and focus. It is not only about you and your own life, but also about your potential offspring if desired. As everyone says: “Health is wealth”.
